Description
BenRiach’s Master Blender, Dr. Rachel Barrie, took 21-year-old peated whiskies matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximnez Sherry, American Oak ex-Bourbon, and virgin oak casks, carefully blending them to re-create the original character of Speyside malts from the 19th Century.
This four-cask matured and peated combination produces a superbly balanced malt, brimming with BenRiach’s signature sweet, fruit-laden style. Now discontinued, these were some of the last remaining bottles in the world.
Nose: Caramelised pear and toasted oak spice fused with honeyed peat and smoked pinewood.
Taste: Smooth creamy peat builds to uncover roasted orchard fruits and eucalyptus. Tropical pineapple and star anise gradually appear.
