Description
To create The Balvenie PortWood 21 year old single malt whisky, a marriage of rare Balvenie is transferred to port casks, or pipes, which have held fine port wines.
The first traditional whisky oak maturation mellows the spirit and builds character. A second cask ageing is at the heart of The Balvenie Portwood and produces a single malt of refinement and remarkable complexity.
Nose: Rich and soft with peach, fudge, red fruits (especially cherry), and a subtle touch of smoke.
Taste: Creamy, soothing, nutty, with warm port-wine influence.
