Description
Tenuta San Guido’s Sassicaia is an iconic Tuscan red (typically 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc) known for its elegance, longevity, and “Bordeaux-meets-Mediterranean” style. It features intense aromas of dark berry, cedar, and spice, with a velvety texture, precise tannins, and a long, refined finish.
Nose: Complex, offering intense notes of ripe wild berries, cassis, black cherry, followed by balsamic, cedar, tobacco, mint, lavender, and Mediterranean herbs.
Taste: Silky and structured with a, fine-grained, well-integrated tannic backbone. Known for its balance between freshness (acid) and rich, concentrated fruit (redcurrant, plum). It finishes long, elegant and polished.
Pairing: Ideal pairings include roasted game meats (wild boar, duck), braised beef, lamb with herbs, and aged cheeses. Its high tannins and acidity also cut through creamy pasta or truffle-based dishes.
