Description
The most acclaimed wine from Fantini was started as an exercise to prove that it was possible to achieve nobility and breed by employing only the incredible range of native grapes. Firstly released in 1998, it is made by blending 5 indigenous grape variety from Abruzzo and Puglia. Fantini Edizione Cinque Autoctoni is a highly acclaimed, full-bodied Italian red blend (Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Negroamaro, Malvasia, Primitivo) from Abruzzo/Puglia. It features a deep garnet color, intense aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, herbs, cocoa, and cinnamon, with velvety tannins, great structure, and a long, spicy finish.
Nose: Complex and intense, featuring cherries, prunes, ripe blackcurrant, tobacco, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa, liquorice, and hints of minerality.
Taste: Rich,, powerful, and velvety. It boasts a strong structure, with a good balance between alcohol and acidity.
Pairing: Pairs well with rich pasta, red meat, aged cheeses, and Korean BBQ.
