Description
Fantini Edizione Cinque Autoctoni is a highly awarded, non-appellation “super-cuvée” from Southern Italy (Abruzzo/Puglia) known for its immense concentration, complexity, and velvety texture. It is a blend of five native grapes: Montepulciano, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Negroamaro, and Malvasia Nera.
Nose: Intense and persistent bouquet of ripe black fruits (blackberries, plum, black cherry) blended with spices (cinnamon, cloves), vanilla, cocoa, licorice, and hints of tobacco or earthiness.
Taste: Full-bodied, rich, and velvety. Features soft, well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish with warm, spicy notes.
Pairing: Due to its intense structure and flavor profile, this wine pairs best with hearty, savory, and rich dishes:
Red Meat: Grilled or roasted red meats, Florentine steak (Bistecca alla Fiorentina), and slow-cooked lamb shanks.
Game: Braised beef, brisket, or game with sauces (wild boar, deer).
Pasta & Pasta Sauce: Hearty pasta ragù, lasagna with mushrooms and truffles, or meatballs in sauce.
Cheese: Aged, hard cheeses such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino.
Asian Cuisine: Rich, savory dishes like Korean BBQ, beef hor fun, or robust spiced curries.
